There is the trailer of the third film of this new version of The Planet of the Apes. If you appreciate your life don't see the film made in 2001.
These new versions are more realistic than the original one made in 1968, but maybe they have lost the essence of the first film.
At first the apes are different from humans, but throughout the films sequel, we learn that apes are similar to humans.... or maybe humans and apes are the same.

I think that the apes are a further step in human's evolution, so there are no equals, but something in common between each other.
